I've read that if you replace the far right 12ax7 (when you're looking at it) with a 12au7 it will clean it up. There's a video on it here. youtu.be/84B1p5fdCBA

Hi, The things absolutely epic, especially the distortion. Unfortunatly thogh, i dunno if its just my amp, but the clean channel is pretty bad imo. It never goes totally clean and there is always some sort of overdrive present on it, even if it is relatively mild. Still a pain in the ass though. Its probably cause ive got a guitar with actves & they push the tubes harder or somethin which causes breakup. Am i right here? Is there anything i can do to make it more transparent sounding? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. Active pickups typically have a higher output compared to passive pickups, which means they can drive the preamp section of your amplifier harder and potentially lead to more distortion, even on the clean channel.

They can provide personalized advice and assistance based on your specific equipment and preferences.

It might be worth trying a different guitar or adjusting the amp settings to see if it helps.
